Thank you suzannesmash, i was going to carve the birth dates of my 3 chikdren too, but it was too cold, i will do tho in the spring

How lovely - my neighbours then 16 yr old grandson did a carving of his and his girlfriends name in a tree. About 6 years later it is still there and they are still together.

Well I am hoping the same thing happens here. I know that the tree is in a place where no building could ever be built as it is near a old pond, so I hope it will be there for a very long time.
