Today I went to our Zoo. I have got a Canon 100-400 is usm L and it was tyime for me to make a test
It works a little different than my Sigma 80-400 ex os apo, but have a faster autofocus. My test showed also that the dof is not so great as the Sigma and mayby it is also not so sharp as the Sigma. I must test further.
I do not know yet if it is a keeper, but see these 5 edited photos.
I made 105 photos - about 80 was very bad

To test properly you should take photos of the same subject with both lenses.
But the results look all right to me.

My first test was : Is it sharp. Is there any malfunction, Do the Stabilizer work OK.Is it fast.Is it sharp sharp sharp. I bought it in UK on E-Bay.
Next test : What is the best setting for this Lense. Most of the time, I use it without Tripod. How close can I make Photos on 400mm ( You know - I sneak like a Ninja :o) )
It would be stupid to have 2 400mm�s so one must be sold. I want to keep the best, and I also know my Sigma very well, but I think the autofocus is too slow ( I cannot depend on manual focus, because my Eyes is not that great anymore and I cannot use My Digilux for Birds because Leica do not have a 250-400mm lense in 4/3 standard. I have tryed the 135-400mm sigma but I could NOT use it ./B
