Hope all went well with it...looks rather precarious. Not to mention that the weather wasn't cooperating.

Thank you Jo....the weather was more severe here than at our previous address...quite a few degrees colder, but we have got used to it having been here now for 30 + years....

No Annamaria...they continued to live elsewhere, and my Dad used to spend every weekend and summers evenings here doing it up, bit by bit, with the help of a local builder who also came every weekend....then when it was ready my Mum decided she didn't really want to move, so it was empty for a year or so before we finally persuaded her!! When she finally took the plunge she loved it, fortunately. I stayed with them until my house was ready, which took another !$*&*** years.....!!

Peter, there were actually farmers living in here when we bought it, and it didn't look a lot different from these 'before' photos!

That must have been a disappointment for your dad after all the hard working that your mother first didn't want to live there... fortunately she is happy with it now...;-))

Barbara it looks like a lovely home and lovely old building, how old is it ?

It is 17th century Don....it was once a coaching inn for travellers on the way from York to London......we found quite a lot of interesting artefacts when the outside land was being dug up for various reasons, including some old coins and a wine jar that now sits on the hearth in my house.....

I am so sorry to hear that Barbara! I didn't know that.....

Your father was a hard worker then !! I suppose you are happy to live still in this old house with all these memories !!

I actually live in the house next door Ruth, but friends of mine are moving into my parents' old house, so that is really good!
