Small narrow street like you still can find many of them in Brugge.
Please also note the special pavement of the street:
we call them ' children's heads' ...
They are practically indestructable: they have lasted since medieval times.

	Jun 08 2012 16:25 GMT Petermosull Great image and information, we call this type of street paveing 'Cobblestones' They are mostly over 12cm deep and were used extensively in European City's and Towns throughout the 18th & 19th century, though as you say many examples can be found dating back to medieval times.
