Reasonable weather at last: I could make a nice bike trip of 25 km
from Haarlem - Santpoort - Velsen - Beverwijk and back.

House Schijbeek in Velsen Noord - Beverwijk - built mid 17th century
Well to do people from Amsterdam fled the city during
the summer months to enjoy the fresh air and nature.
Schijbeek was at the time situated along side the border of a lake.
Because of digging the North Sea Channel (1876) the lake practically
disappeared as such.
