You confuse Art Nouveau/Jugendstil with Art Deco. At the bottom of the Wikipedia page you will find a link towards Art Deco!!! If I remember it correctly you also had a book in your bookcase on Art Deco...
Art Deco is not as romantic as Art Nouveau/Jugendstil. It is much more functional!
