The storehouse is built in a strategic place where several dikes unite in one spot. This whimsical location where Aagtendike, Assendelverdike and Uitgeesterdike as well as the old Leegendike meet dates back to approx. 1350. The foundation is made of crushed-stone concrete. This was also used in a two (!) meters thick upper layer. On top of that was a thick layer of earth added to prevent the building being damaged by enemy hits.
