Holland - The Hague (Den Haag or 's-Gravenhage)
Riding on a horseback in The Hague on a quiet sunday moring.

Mid May I visited The Hague together with my good friend Lenie. We strolled along in this beautiful city and later on visited the Mauritshuis, a museum.
Although Amsterdam is the capital city of the Netherlands, the government buildings have always been situated in The Hague. This gives The Hague a unique and very stylish character.

I think the little arch has something to do with getting rid of the water of former dune brooklets during the winter and autumn time. The Hague is - like Haarlem - built upon a former beach wall, giving the city its original long, rectangular north-south shape.
