Holland - The Hague (Den Haag or 's-Gravenhage)
Bronze statue of Queen Wilhelmina, the grandmother of our present queen Beatrix. Queen Wilhelmina wrote a remarkable book titled 'Alone but not lonely / Eenzaam maar niet alleen', part of this title can be seen - in original view - on both sides of the statue.
Mid May I visited The Hague together with my good friend Lenie. We strolled along in this beautiful city and later on visited the Mauritshuis, a museum.
Although Amsterdam is the capital city of the Netherlands, the government buildings have always been situated in The Hague. This gives The Hague a unique and very stylish character.
