Anna..what a lovely photograph...I'm quite fond of birds....yesterday we had to drive in the snow and ice to get bird feed for our wild birds...the ground is covered with snow and ice so I thought it necessary to get more feed....wonderful photograph........

Thank you too Frederike for your comment. No they are not afraid at all. You always read in the newspapers that sparrows start to disappear more and more in the cities. Here in IJmuiden, and I think also in the other cities - villages along side the coast we still have lots and lots of them fortunately!!!
