You are right Geoff: specially the coots (father and mother together, such in contrary to the ducks, where the father is absent) are very protective towards their little ones, and very brave too. They defend them with their life!

I did not want to disturb them: so I just moved around quietly and zoomed in...

It was towards the end of our sunday bike tour of 66 km. It was a kind of bonus upon a bike trip that had been so very, very nice already until then ... :)))

get off your bike and move around quietly to get this photo..........
OOhhh....do not blame me if I am jealous of your bike trips.....
I just sit here.....while FT had problems I read a book...!! :-))
