Red Rock is gorgeous!! we needed to escape the heat, so we headed to Mt. Charleston. It was a very chilly 83 degrees..LOL-)

Amy, I am doug's wife and we live in Redding, Ca. It's hot here in the summer, too. Been to vegas many times and we do like to hike back into Red Rock Canyon when we go there. It's just beautiful.

I agree, 83 for a day time temp would seem chilly htis time of year!! July and August we are over 100 every day. Maybe not quite as hot as you but on any given day, we are hotter! Different geographical area, though. You are more desert like, we are more mountains and lakes/streams/rivers. :-))
