A view of the interior of the spire. This is taken from the base of the spire looking upwards. Not all spires have this kind of timber framework, but there is a similar construction in the famous crooked spire of Chesterfield church.

Only nutters and steeplejacks. The spire in our church has a negative rake ladder fixed to the stonework inside - and there are rumours (not sure how true) that people have climbed all the way up!
