"Stone River" is a large sculpture by Andy Goldsworthy at Stanford University. The rocks were lying around, wreckage of Stanford's buildings from the 1906 and 1989 earthquakes, and he had a crew of proper English stonemasons build this over the course of a month. It's installed in a shallow trench near the University Art Museum, where there is a lovely Rodin garden also.

There are Roman ruins of stone walls in England, which really surprised me when I read the sign. But the ones I saw were straight. Funny how things are connected through history....
