Franklin Plaza is a mini-park at the end of Franklin Street in Oakland, built in 1952 by the Uptown Merchants Association and the city. It's very low-key. I don't know where the chairs are; this was late Sunday afternoon.
In the back is a tall white papier-mache statue that this homeless guy has been working on. The paper had an article about him.
To my back is Broadway. Just up the road is where downtown ends and Auto Row begins. | |
