Alden's Fotothing

Wright's Point is a long, thin tableland topped with lava that sticks out into the wide valley of Harney Basin, south of Burns in central Oregon. It used to be a streambed before lava flows filled it up. When the surrounding land eroded away, the lava protected it and now it stands high. Where I stood, the top is only about 100 feet wide but it's several miles long.
