Day one is for the civil ceremony in a tiny office in Mijas, the wedding proper comes the following day at Alaurin Golf and goes on well into the one after that!

The lakes are outstandingly beautiful, the colour of the water there has to be seen to be believed.
Imagine three stunningly beautiful turquoise coloured lakes bordered by pine forests. A tranquil retreat where you can swim or fish, or picnic on the lake shore. Hardly sounds like a typical Andalucian scene, does it! But west of Alora just a ten minute drive from my home that is what you will find. Malaga's "Lake District" is in fact three artificial lakes created by a dam built across the dramatic 200 m. high Guadalhorce river gorge, known as the Garganta del Chorro. Watch out for the eagles which continually circle around the sheer cliffs.
None of my images of these lakes have been colour enhanced, they are all quite natural.

Created: 23 Jun 2008 | | June 22nd was the Romeria De San Juan in our village, it's only a small affair compared with the ones on the coast but we had a great time. The Romeria goes right past our house...twice, so we just had to join in the walk.
Here is my view of the day, not always in the order they were taken. I hope you enjoy this view of our little village in Spain.
