Is this at home or at work (or are they the same place?)? I didn't know anyone still made the "horizontal" type of computers that sit under a monitor.

At work, hence the Monash University tag. Plenty of the workstations here are desktops, although each generation seems to be a little smaller. The one on the left shouldn't be there but its a long and boring IT story involving a crashed hard disk and a recalcitrant bureacracy...
