The Sansevieria or "mother-in-law's tongue" is cultivated as an indoor plant in Malta - it does not grow in the wild. It's flower is different, maybe you have another species with the same name. The Friar's Cowl is a very small plant and grows very close to the ground. It's flower is around 60mm in lenght.
