Gilman Springs Road near San Jacinto, California. Wildfire quickly brought under control by airborne and groundcrew firefighters before it could damage downwind dairy farm on May 3, 2009. Southern California faces another challenging firefighting season due to the extreme drought. Muddy water was retrieved from nearby golf course pond and is very effective. California will always be a 'hot spot' if for nothing else but wildfires. I don't always look for them, but they do provide some dramatic opportunities for photographers so I don't pass one up if I can help it. Most (like this one) are serendipititous shots, as I am usually just 'in the right place at the right time.'
