Snow was forecast for Dunedin today. It finally arrived leaving a clear night and icy winds in its wake.
While waiting on someone this evening, I took this picture of a truck passing. The effect I captured was well worth the wait in the cold wind.

Marvellous effect, I wouldn't even bother trying to start a photo like this, it would be a disaster !

Thanks Midworlder. It was really simple to do and probably breaks many photography rules.
I put the setting to night on my camera, leaned against a fence post, held the camera in my not totally steady hands and waited. I saw the truck coming and targeted where I thought he would come into frame. As the cab entered the shot, I pushed the button and held as steady as I could.
A great result. Lots of fun. Point and shoot philosophy, Just playing to see what happens.

Thanks Ciara. Is a lot of fun. A great time waster and the way things change shape is hilarious.
I have one of street lights along the harbour looking like a flock of birds flying.
Might load it tonight for a giggle.

Thanks Robin. I was down at the courier yard waiting for Mark to finish work. Took lots of pics and hoped for a goody. I got one or two but love this the best.

Thank you. They are supposed to be doing no more than 60km/h but...
It does look a lot faster.
