The Otago Rock and Mineral Club members went on their September field trip today, 07/09/08.
We went to Measley Beach, near Toko Mouth, South of Dunedin, New Zealand. Todays target species were fossil shells and fossilised shark teeth.
Aged somewhere between 50 million and 75 million years old. Not in bad shape. No decay and a couple of new spurs already growing on the side.

This would be like looking for a needle in a hayshed. Great find and interesting series

Thanks Shirley.
Les has been going to this site for years and this is his second tooth find. This trip he did find some smaller ones as well which he gave to one of the younger girls but she kept dropping them.
