One for Jagged - I found a company that his stuck two fingers up at the European Union rules on labelling and called a Cornish Pastie what it is.

kimbob: Have you never heard of the root vegetable "swede"? It is a bit like a turnip but quite sweet.

Oh oh oh, appears it is the same as our rutabaga!

kimbob: Yeah it is the same, I consider myself educated as I now know what a rutabaga is. I had never heard of it before. I must confess I find swede easier to say.

Try Ginsters Cornish Pasties, they are..... or at least used to be made in St Austell in Cornwall.

Yes that’s right, it’s near the china clay mines and the Eden Project. They have/had a factory and a shop there, I bought my first pasty there in 1971 and it was delicious!
It’s gorgeous down there, and after Spain that is the place I would most want to live!

LIsaSam67: I have heard of bridies. I like rutubaga when it is mashed/creamed with potato.

megmet: I 100% agree with you about Cornwall although I do favour the northcoast like Tintagel rather than St Austell myself. Having said that it is small enough to travel from coast to coast easily.
