The town of Imerovigli on the picturesque island of Santorini, Greece has a few hotels that sit on the very edge of the caldera and offer stunning views across the sweeping curve of the island to the town of Oia. This particular pristine hotel commands an amazing view and is called Afroessa. “Afroessa” is one of the small islands formed in the centre of the caldera by masses of boiling lava when the Santorini volcano erupted between 1866 and 1870.

This looks like a view into paradise, Brian. Imagine opening this highly ornamental door every morning for the rest of your life... I don't think you would ever get tired of it. But then I could be wrong... :-)
Another little masterpiece of perfect timing and precision all around. It looks timeless... like most of your superb images.

PS: Had to laugh out aloud about your last comment. :-)) I hope your auras have finally dissipated. Perhaps you need more relaxation time on one of the healing islands... perhaps Kythira? Have you ever been there?

xx :-) Doris

Hi Doris, so glad I made you laugh! I have not been to Kythira, it is one of the more remote Greek Islands but really beautiful. It is not on the English tourist map, so one would have to get there independently. Have got it in my sights though!
