Words immortalised in John Lennon's thought provoking anthem "Imagine" - it is now the ceiling of the ruined gothic mansion that is Nymans House at Handcross in West Sussex, England. The house was destroyed by fire in 1947 and is now a partial ruin that lies amidst beautifully laid out gardens and woodland. Please view LARGE.

A stunning picture, Brian.... great details in large and the best in B&W! Very strange to see that the destroyed part of the building still stands.... even looks rather good...like a tree is growing in that part of the building!

Oddly, I was immediately taken in by the abstract looking bush sculptures in front of the building. They are (in my opinion) strongly contrasting with the place.
How fascinating it must have been to explore all this... so many possibilities... even sensing the odd ghost still wandering around the premises.
