One of the hut circles in Grimspound Bronze Age village on Dartmoor. The village dates back to around 1300BC meaning it is well over 3000 years old.
The walls of the hut would originally have been two or three times higher and it is thought the roof would have been thatched, possibly with heather. I like this hut as it has a little porch - very useful on Dartmoor where it is often cold and windy!
Thor...I remember going to rock outcrops on the Yorkshire Moor to read...it was so peaceful....but it was extremely important to stay out of the wind....
we will be in Preston in September to visit our daughter and her family.
then we will do the Roman Wall in Chester and the Rib Chester wall. it is close to them. first we will go to USA to our other child.
