My entry for countrypridefriday : This is part of the small war graves cemetery at St Augustines Church, Heanton Punchardon, Devon.
These young men, many of whom were only 19 or 20, lost their lives flying from the local airbase in the Second World War. In a cemetery of just 100 graves I found memorials to young men from Britain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Czechoslovakia and Poland who served side by side - as the King James Bible says "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".
