Painted Lady butterfly on Viper's Bugloss plant, Braunton Burrows.
I have seen so many Painted Ladies over the past two weeks - apparently they are arriving in Britain in record numbers this year (see below). I say 'arriving' as they fly to Britain from North Africa - that is a long way for a butterfly!

Finally....saw a painted lady up in a forest on the edge of the moor....considering how many millions of them there seem to be in the UK right now so suprised I have only seen one!!!
