Castell Henllys promontory fort from across the valley - it is not a traditional hill fort (using slopes on all sides for defence) rather it sits in a U - shaped bend in the river, using the slope to the water and the water on three sides and banks and ditches across the fourth side.

They are not very old Glenn - they are reconstructions of the Iron Age huts built exactly where the originals stood. The give a very good idea of how the site must have looked.
