Statue of Edward the Black Prince (1330 - 1376) in City Square, Leeds.
Edward was a famously heroic leader (he defeated the French at Crecy and Poitiers) who actually never became king as he died a year before his father, King Edward III. The statue was chosen for Leeds City Square as Edward was thought to represent democracy and chivalry. For more info see:
