The Roman amphithearte at Caerleon, South Wales. Caerleon was the base for the Second Legion and the amphitheatre dates to around 80 AD. The name 'Caeleon' is thought tio derive from the Welsh for 'castle of the legions'. When complete the amphitheatre would seat around 6,000 people - roughly the size of the legion.
