Common Limpet on the beach at Abbotsham, North Devon. Apparently the limpets grind a depression into the rock (known as a 'scar') to get a tighter fit for themselves - in this picture you can see a limpet scar on the right and a limpet in 'his' scar on the left - amazing that such a small creature can wear away solid rock!
