Danby Castle in North Yorkshire. The earliest stone castle on the site dates to the 14th century, in the 16th century the owner of the castle married Catherine Parr, Henry VIII's widow. Today the castle is part of a farm. The area around Danby is full of history, there are Bronze age hut circles on the moors above the village and the name "Danby" itself refers to the Vikings, translating as "Dane-settlement".
