Buzzard.
Buteo buteo.
Notice the lichen on the tree.
Sign of clean air & plentiful rain.
Also the damage to the bark where this bird has been perching for some weeks.
Been keeping an eye on one of my feeders whilst I've been away but slowly he/she is getting used to having a bird watching companion.
Sigma 70-300 f8 500th sec.

Love this buzzard series.
I saw a buzzard sitting on some road work cones on the m74 ten days ago, I felt priviledged. It seems you have a regular visitor here.
:)))
Been resident for weeks.
Just been getting to know.
4 weeks ago this bird took flight as soon as I walked into the field, now I carry on working or stop work & start photographing & he/she is happy to let me carry on.
:))
Good series! We have only one Buizzard as far as I'm aware in my locality, but I see them when I go to N. Devon. I think they;re beautiful birds. Do they cause much trouble where you are?
