Two Welsummer day olds with a Welsummer x silkie.
Silkie crosses make excellent broodies (mothers) & with forever rising electricity costs it was time I raised some to save running incubators & heat lamps for 6 months of the year.

Have not been on here for ages. Beautiful shots as ever. Maybe this year I will get a better camera. Mine is phasing out..... It's been a strange summer here in Ohio to say the least.My bees are starving if we don't feed them. Love your pic.'s needles to say.

It is so much easier than using an incubator . I invested in a new one at the beginning of the year because had hardly any broodies last year...and this year..loads..
