Male yellowhammer.
Emberiza citrinella.
Both the Yellowhammer & the Stonechat are on the RSPB (Royal society for the protection of birds) Amber list which means although not threatened their numbers are declining, mainly due to habitat loss.
These birds were photographed at a site near me which is part of the heathland regeneration scheme run by English Nature & local industry.
