Yes folks you guessed it ,it was glassware this is called a Bobbin and is used in the makeing of lace. The top end is made heavier so that when the thread is attatched to the other end it is held taunt.

That was a great entry, Jim!! In Holland they use wooden Bobbins...I think this one is a lot nicer!! ;-))

This one is quite plain compared to some of the other one's Maureen has got Marg.Most are wood but she has glass,bone,and others !!!!
