Steve has been making a wonderful job of repairing the window frames in our new house. The little vacuum cleaner is doing a wonderful job of catching all the sawdust!

No, Curves - right-handed, hence the fence on the left so my right hand can be used (away from the saw of course) to guide the piece.

You know I do the opposite and I'm right handed, I look at it as I'm able to not stand directly behind the blade that way.....I witnessed a friend get struck in the upper shoulder when one of the blades teeth broke off and hit him because he was standing behind the blade.

So make sure your not standing in line with the blade path when your cutting and use ear protection if you still want to hear S tell you lovey dovey things in your old age.....

I do wear ear protectors yes - it makes the whole process far less stressful for one thing!

I generally stand to the right of the blade anyway, and certainly not in line with it. I use a push stick to push the pieces through and another to the right of the blade to keep the work down flat and hard up against the fence, so that naturally places me on the right hand side of the blade. :-)

You know Curves, since your question, I've rethought it. I tried the other way and I think you may be right. The blade faces away from the fence when cutting angled pieces too which is good. I think you may have converted me. What started me on that side was the instriuction book! ;-)
