On the way back from Paris, the sky over the English Channel was dramatic; that smudge down the sky was strange.

(I just downloaded my camera memory card and got a few surprises - things I'd forgotten I'd taken, what with moving house and all. So here's a varied selection from the last six weeks.)

Tell Wally - sorry, but he's wrong this time. I saw Steve take this photo and was wondering what the heck it was too. It was NOT a smudge on the lens but something real and visible in the sky!! He took the picture specifically because of the mark in the sky.
There aren't any smudges on his other pics and he hadn't cleaned the lens, before or after this one!
