Tesco Trolleys have a clever device that locks the wheels when they cross a magnetic strip on the path leading out of the back of the supermarket. People push their shopping this far then abandon their (now non-mobile) trolleys to this "Supermarket Trolley Graveyard".

Don't worry - some nice Tesco 'Trolley-rescuing Person' will come along and stand it up, release its brakes and push it back to the store to resume its duties.
