Interrupting this holiday narrative to share with you the EXCITING EVENT which happened today!!

We had just arrived home and a car shot past the house and round the corner into the next street. "What on earth was THAT?" I thought..."Ah, I know - the Google car taking 360 degree pictures for Streetview! So I whipped out my trusty camera and by the time he came back, I was ready to snap my pic of him - he did me a thumbs up and by that time Steve was waving in a typically silly manner behind me...

So when Worcester comes on stream on Streetview - WE WERE THERE!!

How do you get that contraption on the roof through the road-safety regulations?

D'you mean anyone can get access to the layout of your street and house at the press of a button?? What's the use of that, except being a godsend to burglars and stalkers? I don't like the sound of that...but I don't expect they'll get down my 'street'...

Great shot.
In Canada they are just starting to map, however with a twist.

Google plans to release Street View for various Canadian cities, but modified so that faces and license plates are blurred, due to concerns raised by Canada's federal privacy commissioner Jennifer Stoddart about the program breaching Canada's privacy laws.

That seems to be happening everywhere they think they might be breaking privacy laws. Not sure whether we Brits bother about that sort of thing or not - we would if it were children but probably not with adults.
