Another dear friend departed this life this week. Bishop Kenneth, here photographed with his wife Rev Juliet on their silver wedding anniversary. I taught their daughter, Catherine, cello and piano but they became more than just parents of one of my pupils. They were very supportive friends to me through some of my toughtest times.
He died on Monday aged 84.
He had a wonderful sense of humour and was a terrific public speaker. He was instrumental in bringing in the ordination of women priests in the Church of England. Some say he would have been Archbishop of Canterbury had his first wife's death from cancer not happened around the time that post became vacant.
