Read the book about S. Francis & the precepts on the back of Della Robbia’s statue. It is the most beautiful thing in terra cotta & he took it from the mask of S. Francis after his death.

A telegram just come to say the baby was born last night [something-something torn paper] His name is Balonecio(?). All so disappointed that the infant is not a girl –
