We leave on Saturday for Rome & have enjoyed being here very much. All so kind & doing everything to assist. As Fr. Sebastian said to me so much of the poetry & romance is gone– but the people of these lovely old towers &c is exquisite.
But it is _awful_ to see via giotto for instance changed into via xx settan bre(?) – a rude shock to one’s reverence!
