Roadiepig's Fotothing

While fishing a few days ago, we were fortunate enough to see a group of around 30 American White Pelicans resting in the shallows of Lake Shelbyville. They are making their way back north after spending the winter in warmer climes.

We were only able to pull to within about 200 yards of these birds, not because I didn't want to spook them but because the water was so shallow where they sat. My depth finder kept beeping, meaning we were in less than 2' of water. Since I didn't feel like jumping in to the cold water to un-stick my boat, that was the best I could do.

The 10X zoom on the Canon Power Shot SX210, along with the image stabilization, made for some pretty good shots (IMHO) considering the distance...
