Back to the floor project:

FYI - that is the old (1970's) carpet , still on the floor in the living room in this photo.

I went ahead and stained the railing for our steps a day before I stained everything else. I wanted to see what the color was going to look like (red oak), and see how the stain took to the stripped wood.

So far, so good....
