Carl Sandburg...

During the Great Depression (in the 1930's here in America), the federal government paid a minor amount of money to aspiring artists through a work program called the WPA (Work Progress Administration). Most of the work they did was inside of U.S. post offices. The murals in our local post office are beautiful- the next couple of photos were shot by me today. I didn't want to use flash (and, as far as that goes, I didn't want to get charged with some terrorist act by Homeland Security for taking the photos), so the lighting isn't that great. In other words- there is a ton of "film grain" at full size, since I set the camera to 800, then 1600 ISO film speed.I wanted to pass them on to you anyway, so here they are....

wow - that's fantastic Tood - our is decorated with expensive stamp "items" - like a photo plaque of Albert Pujols - etc.
