Friday's bluegills- yes, they were resting in the bathroom sink of our motel room.
Let me explain:
There used to be a fish cleaning station near where we fish down there. But, like many things in the state of Illinois, funding was removed for it's upkeep (the little governor of the state has little use for "outdoors" sports- not a priority for the Chicago born and raised "man").
So for the past couple of years, whenever we decided to keep anything while on vacation at Crab Orchard we would clean the fish by our car, put the remains in a sealed ziploc bag, and deposit it in the dumpster near the boat ramp.
But this time, there was a new sign on the trash container- "NO FISH REMAINS ALLOWED!"
So...
That left only the motel room.
Don't worry- I didn't make any sort of mess. Everything was double bagged and deposited in their dumpster. We saw the garbage truck pick up their refuse every morning, so I'm sure my little "deposit" didn't hurt anyone.
Besides the fish, I guess... | |
