My Dracunculus vulgaris bulb decided to bloom this year, the first time in 3 springs (and only the 5th time since I planted it 11 years ago). The flower's bloom only lasts about 24 hours, less in hot weather (it was 92º the day it opened).
Luckily I had the camera in my hands the day it did its thing. And yes, it smells horrible! Like roadkill, only stronger. Flies are all over it, trying to pollinate it.
If you want something really weird for your garden, I recommend this plant wholeheartedly...
