From the stairs that lead to the balcony seats, I could see down into that curtained box. Inside, some of the great puppets that become the animals of the Lion King.
The traveling Lion King production is here in Honolulu until December. I just got a chance to see the show last night and it was great. It was a visual and aural feast rich in aesthetically pleasing African themed visual design and music. It was an interesting and beautiful interpretation of the Disney animated movie brought to the stage in a Broadway style unique unto itself. It would have been wrong (and difficult) to have taken pictures of the show as it was going on. I was able to take pictures of the outside, however, as well as the lobby. There was also a display of some of the masks at a local furniture store. | |
