What is inside... An LCD TV?

I recently went to the Hawaii Sony Expo where they had an interesting array of technology on display. What caught my eye most, however, were their displays that showed some of their products in pieces (or in this case cut away in layers) so that we could see what is inside. This kind of display reminds me of the kindergarten "Take Apart" table. That was always one of my favorite activities.

I find it fascinating what goes into making these things work. Who knew that an LCD screen had so many layers? Look at those tiny fluorescent bulbs! (Best viewed at original size. Read the key in the lower left.)
